Split Terms
By initiating or accepting a Split Request with another Point user, you agree to be bound to these Split Terms in addition to the Deposit and Card Terms. A Split Request is a request to split a settled debit transaction made at a Point of Sale (not at an ATM) using a Point Card between two Point users. An Originator is a Point user who initiates a transaction to split a purchase with an Acceptor. An Acceptor is a Point user who is sent a Split Request from an Originator. The Acceptor may choose to accept or decline a Split Request. An Originator may choose how much to request from an Acceptor for each Split Request. An Originator will not be able to initiate a Split transaction if the Originator has an insufficient Point balance. If the Acceptor declines the Split Request, the Split Request expires 14 days after no action from the Acceptor, or the Acceptor has insufficient funds to cover their portion of the Split Request, the Originator will be responsible for the entire transaction amount. The Originator may cancel a Split Request prior to an Acceptor’s response to the request, in which case the Originator will be responsible for the entire transaction amount. A Split Request will be canceled if a transaction included in the Split Request is refunded or disputed prior to the Split’s acceptance. The Originator will receive any funds which may be owed if a transaction included in a completed Split is later refunded or disputed.
